The European Starling / Stare is not a bird that one would associate with color but this species is full of feathery sophistication. In full breeding plumage, the starling has an iridescent gloss of greens, violets, and purples along with the flight feathers having warm buff or white spots or chevrons. I photographed this individual with a flock of several others in Hammars Park, Malmö.
