Poster presentations at EGU and SCS

In spring of 2024, I presented some preliminary analysis at the European Geoscience Union General Assembly in Vienna and the Swedish Climate Symposium in Norrköping. The analysis explores the use of satellite spectral reflectance and radar backscatter to map dominant tree species in Swedish forests and assess their separability by evaluating the influence of forest properties (e.g., height, volume, density) on spectral and radar responses. The aim of the presentation was to gather feedback from the community and refine the approach for advancing satellite-based forest monitoring.

Interview with Swedish Television (SVT)

I was interviewed by Swedish broadcaster SVT in summer 2024 to discuss my project to map tree species in southern Sweden's forests using satellite imagery and field observations. The interview took place at one of our field sites in Scania, where I demonstrated how my team collects data, including tree species identification, light conditions, and tree diameters, to train the machine learning model.

Treespec Web Application

I created a tree species web mapping application to provide an interactive platform for exploring and downloading the preliminary results of my tree mapping project. Users can view detailed maps of tree species composition in southern Sweden and download data for any part of the study area. The web map and any data downloaded from it are based on preliminary results and are intended for informational purposes only. They should not be used for analysis, decision-making, or any professional applications, as the data may contain inaccuracies and is subject to further refinement.
