Husie Mosse

Husie Mosse is 28-hectare wetland area with associated woodland that’s right on the eastern edge of Malmö where the suburban fabric turns into agricultural fields. The area was an overgrown marshland that was excavated and restored in 1997 to create the 4-hectare lake in the center and the associated natural surroundings. Bird life is rich in the area and includes a good mixture of birds of prey and songbirds.

Up to 36 species of birds seen here on previous spring walks including Common Redstart / Rödstjärt, Blackcap /Svarthätta, Red-necked Grebe /Gråhakedopping, Great Spotted Woodpecker /Större hackspett, Marsh Harrier /Brun kärrhök, White-tailed Eagle / Havsörn and Eurasian Sparrowhawk / Sparvhök.
