Pildammsparken

Pildammsparken is located just south of central Malmö and is one of Malmö's largest and oldest parks. One of the two ponds after which the park is named was actually built as early as the 16th century. However, the current park area has emerged during the 20th century. The park covers an area of over 45 hectares which includes two ponds. Pildammsparken is a place for exercise, recreation, meditation… and birding. Several songbird species have been recorded here including the Chaffinch / Bofink, Hawfinch/ Stenknäck, Pied Flycatcher / Svartvit flugsnappare, Willow Warbler / Lövsångare and Common Redstart / Rödstjärt. The ponds attract a variety of water birds such as Lesser Black-backed Gull / Silltrut, Tufted Duck / Vigg, Red-necked Grebe / Gråhakedopping, and Pochard / Brunand. Make sure to bring your morning coffee!
